the artistic license went a long way on the movie. While it is true at the basic level of facts, there was a rig, it had a blowout, and people got hurt, and many died, the formal report bears little resemblance to the movie. The differences are in matters such as the final jump off the the young Mustang owner positioning officer had been in the raft and fell out as a painter came up short and tipped the raft onto its The last person off the rig was reported as Yancy Keplinger, and old hand and the Senior dynamic positioning officer, a guy, much older, and not a Mustang owner AFAIK. Mark W's character did jump, along with 3 others, including Yancy, and the OIM. The poor crane operator appears to have been taken out at the beginning of the casualty, not as depicted. The subsea team in the bridge did attempt to disconnect before the OIM got to the bridge, the subsea manager had the authority and exercised it, it didn't work. The OIM did attempt to disconnect again, and no change to the status occurred. This could have been a great film, and the truthful actual events could have been portrayed without any loss of viewer entertainment, drama, or suspense, but instead, a make-believe narrative was established that shares similarity only at a very cursory glance. The truth itself was compelling, and nothing would have been lost by just relating the truth accurately. REF:

The story about the dinosaurs is correct, except it didnt take millions of years.The "millions of years" is introduced to support fictional theory of evolution.Massive burial sites are the result of the global flood. Cities full of people. Caves filled with people and animals, trying to escape.Want to know where to get more oil ? Simple, start looking in the most populated places prior to the flood.

Scariest movie I’ve ever seen. It’s not a horror flick neither but it’s pretty fricken terrifying. Those dudes went through hell for “ The BP Co Man Scum Bags “ 11 men Died. They really did a great job with this movie of basically sticking to the script. People that didn’t know already would have thought Hollywood was adding things to add to the movie but it all went down like that , celebrating their safety record the same day , same time basically as the blow out is starting to happen. F’n amazing.

How did this constitute a movie! This looks great, and what an amazing cast! However, I question the decision to 'heroize' the people who caused the fucking disaster in the first place. Oil belongs in the ground, not burnt to particulates in our atmosphere or floating in our oceans.
