Said it before… This is how you add "soul" to a well known Guillermo spent years working on this movie. He added his mysterious yet beautiful and philosophical essence. If you have tocompare his version vs the shitty Disney version I'd simply say this is far the difference between handcrafted and mass production cheap shit

I didn't watch Pinocchio as a kid and to be honest, I've never seen any version of it but nevertheless I love Guillermo Del Toro and I'm so so excited for this film. It has an incredible cast! I know that this will win the Best Animated Film Oscar. I'm calling it now!I remember watching David Bradley in Harry Potter as a kid. This is so nostalgic. Gregory Mann just sounds so adorable. Cate Blanchett is always killing it. It's so cool to see Finn Wolfhard's movie work as well. As a huge fan of Stranger Things, it's fun to see him voice acting.

I'm guessing it doesn't end with Pinocchio becoming a real boy? He has eternal life as a puppet and at 1:54 he's seen with the monkey who has a cane in this scene, and it looks like he's taking flowers to his father's grave.

This stop motion animation story revised looks possibly classical and I personally can’t wait to see how the heart strings of this wooden boy (with a little Trojan horse) will fair. We all need reminding of our own values within life and how to nurture them and respect others. Can’t wait.

Okay, this movie looks very good and has a lot of artistic merit, but my instinctual gut reaction when I was the name was just, “Oh god no. Please, not another one!”I’ve been hurt too much by the knowledge of the existence of all the new Pinocchio movies released this year. It’s like the Yeti film craze all over again. And one of those Yeti films was a stop motion film. Huh. Go figure.

I went to see this movie yesterday with my daughter. I picked this movie without seeing the trailer first because it was the only kid movie I recognized. I thought I was going to see the Disney version, but it’s way better than the Disney version. This one captures your heart. I loved it.

Saw the movie in theaters, is it as good as the 1940s version?No, but that movie is like top 5 greatest animated features of all time.
