Những người làm nhạc truyền thống đã sử dụng âm nhạc để kể về cuộc chiến tranh đã chia rẽ đất nước Nhật Bản. Vào thế kỷ 14, những ca khúc như vậy bị chính quyền kiểm duyệt gắt gao với mục đích bảo trợ cho lịch sử chính thống. Tomona, một nhạc sĩ khiếm thị đã có cuộc gặp gỡ định mệnh với Inu-oh, chàng vũ công với những đặc điểm cơ thể độc đáo và họ cùng nhau làm nức lòng công chúng bằng âm nhạc và điệu nhảy hoàn toàn mới của mình. Bộ phim hoạt hình được xây dựng dựa trên những ý tưởng táo bạo kết hợp cùng nhiều hình ảnh đẹp mắt để miêu tả sự ra đời của nghệ thuật trình diễn truyền thống Nhật Bản. Đạo diễn: Yuasa Masaaki đã tưởng tượng ra các nghệ sĩ thời trung cổ là những ngôi sao nhạc rock và bản thân ông là một trong những nghệ sĩ hàng đầu của Nhật Bản.

The music in the trailer sounds like a mix between Ghost (the japanese band), Boris and Koenjihyakkei, beautiful and breathtaking. And Masaaki Yuasa is beyond awesome

Blown away by the music, visuals, concept, animation, and sound of this movie. Saw the Mind Game screening with q/a in LA last week, it was great to see this one with so much context and memories fresh in my mind. Yuasa is such a master in collaborative concept and ideas. I was STUNNED by the dancing animations in this movie, in my opinion the hardest possible thing to animate, done so freely and effortlessly here so many times. If you’re doubting seeing this one AT ALL, please go all in and see it wherever/if you can!! You wont regret a theater experience!

Loved Yuasa's films since Mindgame, this was like a Feudal Japanese Tenacious D: Pick of Destiny story in all the best ways. And then animated in a way only the master can do.

La verdad, ni Ghibli ni los proyectos del maestro Yuasa son los que más resuenan en mí, tienen todo lo que pediría de una obra de animación. Creo que es capaz de ver el aura de las cosas con una gran sensibilidad artística y mucha puntería, para crear universos fascinantes.

Masaaki Yuasa does it again, huh. I'm not going to lie, I didn't watch much of his stuff at first until Devilman Crybaby, but let me just say, I am so sad that I didn't discover this wonderful mind sooner. Everything he puts out or works on always ends up being quite fantastic. I've watched this trailer three times in a row and I have a feeling I'll continue to watch it daily until I get to see this on the big screen.
