I'm very excited and hopeful for this upcoming feature. It brings me back to my childhood years long, long ago, back when Snake Eyes was my favorite Joe. I remember fondly receiving the collection of action figures via an aunt whose sons had outgrown them. Snake Eyes' head cover was not removable, therefore he had no face, which even then I found quite sad, as I wanted to see the human part of him. Now thanks to the upcoming movie, my childhood dream might materialize, and I am confident Mr. Golding can and will carry the character fully.

I hope this project less CGI ( more martial arts scene ) and more realistic fighting combat brutal , gore and death shot in the head, cut throat, like in ( the night come for us) in the scene should be more the script or story telling more intense from the beginning until end,. im pretty sure will kick since this project has iko uwais in it which people want to see his action,.i hope the producer read my peace from

Not only was Snake Eyes few shots we did get of him in the original comics (from the rear, silhouette, with sunglasses on, and after the surgery) ALL show him as blonde, as well as his sister.

So basically the writers are doing their own thing and not going by the original backstory of Snake Eyes. Snake Eyes was a war veteran who face got mangled and lost his ability to speak. This is why Hollyweird fucked up the last 2 GI Joe movies by changing characters backstory

I get that snake eyes is a white man but this actor is half white and half Asian and as a person who is half Japanese and half white many people in Japan still see us as outsiders or called hafu like half so him being this way would not change his back story because storm shadow as a full Japanese man may not feel like a hafu is worthy enough to be trained like some Japanese people do think in Japan . Just my opinion tho ??‍♀️

I’m a little surprised that Henry Golding, a biracial actor (White/Asian of Malaysian descent) is playing Snake Eyes, who has been White for nearly four decades. Usually, I don’t mind race swaps like this (because most of the time, a character being White isn’t really an integral part of the character’ characterization or backstory), but considering that Snake Eyes’ race is the focal point of Storm Shadow’s animosity toward him, I’d say that the fans’ criticism of this casting choice is valid. Arguably, Henry as Snake Eyes would still be considered an outsider to Storm Shadow, since he wouldn’t be Japanese anyway. But still, a valid criticism, nonetheless. I’d have the same energy as Snake Eyes fans if Marvel decided to change Black Panther’s race, even though he’s been Black and African since 1966 and both his race and culture are an integral part of his character, his powers, etc. So I gotta side with the fans on this one.
