The book is so much better than the movie, in the book you see a change of character, development, independence, maturity and what not. In this movie the kid is completely dependent on adults that he is surrounded by, he doesn't develop, he stays the same. And again, he relies on others. In the book you see Cole beat up Peter, and not feeling bad for him at all. And he only joins the circle of justice to get out of jail, and he still escapes; you see how immature but independent he is, and as the story goes on; he becomes mature, independent, fearless, intelligent,

This is shit. The only way a move will ever compare the least bit to the actual book would be maybe if Alejandro G. Iñárritu made it into another movie of his, similar to the Revenant style.
